The history of the Machine cut square princess cut goes back to 1961, when a London cutter by the name of Arpad Nagy invented the profile Cut. The Princess cut is also known as the Square Modified Brilliant cut and it was made popular by Israel Itzkowitz, Ygal Perlman and Betzalel Ambar.
